I appreciate you sharing this. We here are also prepared somewhat. Much of the preparation occurred gradually (many items and components of prepping were cheaper in the past), but when it comes to food, keeping enough on hand requires some dedication to the task. At this point in time, we are offsetting the electricity consumption of multiple food freezers and refrigerators with a solar array integrated into the power grid network in our area of the state. It's not a disaster plan, just a storage plan. The prepping for emergencies and world chaos is another thing, where we have land with resources and supplies stored there, survival at a phase of societal disturbance where basics are needed. Another phase of prepping is practice. Builds experience and practice so when a real need to survive appears, one will be somewhat rehearsed about what to do.
